Adam Thomas Hooker, 46, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 13, 2021. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at

Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service

in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A funeral service with military honors will take place at

1 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at the funeral home, officiated by Certified Celebrant Amy

Hart. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Adam under "photos and videos or media," starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 18.

Adam was born on Feb. 18, 1975, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Marvin and Mary Jo (Fender) Hooker. He attended Washington High School and Metro High School. Adam served honorably in the U.S. Army. On June 17, 2000, Adam was united in marriage to Wendy Archer. He worked at Divine Engineering for over 20 years. Adam was very handy and enjoyed tinkering; he was the "go-to" guy and would help anyone with anything. Adam made friends quickly, he never knew a stranger. Above all else, he loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Hooker of Hiawatha; son, Cameron Hooker of Marion; daughter, Megan Hooker (Orien Lough) of Cedar Rapids; son, Dylan Hooker of Hiawatha; father, Marvin (Donna) Hooker of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Nick (Sam) Hooker of Des Moines and Beth (Michael) Haider of Surprise, Arizona; Wendy's parents, Dean and Debbie Archer of Swisher, Iowa; Wendy's brother, Brian (Jade) Archer of Cedar Rapids; and stepbrothers, Kevin (Kim) Nanke, Kirk (Angie) Nanke, Kent (Kristi) Nanke, Kory (Candy) Nanke.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Hooker; aunt, Marta Fender; grandparents, Stanley and Mabyn Fender; and grandparents-in-law, Don and Joyce Baker.
