Gov. Branstad should support Medicaid expansion
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 8, 2012 1:41 pm
What is Gov. Terry Branstad thinking? The Medicaid expansion will be free to the State of Iowa for three years and never cost us more than 10 percent. Branstad is threatening to opt out and leave thousands for low-income wage earners in Iowa without any health care. This insurance will make a healthier, more productive workforce and ultimately save the state more than the 10 percent with increased employment, productivity and tax revenue. Healthy workers make a healthier Iowa!
Please demand that the governor reconsider his position and support the Medicaid expansion.
