Cedar Rapids police say they've recovered crack cocaine and several weapons after shots were fired at a restaurant near Coe College.
Police say they were called to Kumbala restaurant, 1323 First Avenue SE, at around 3:50 am. Saturday because weapons had been discharged inside.
As officers arrived, they say a 16-year-old boy was running out, and he was found to have crack cocaine and a handgun.
Police arrested Robert Diaz, 51, for carrying weapons and a large knife, and Timothy Armstead, 32, for interference with official acts.
Police recovered two handguns, as well as the cocaine, from the search of the restaurant and its patrons.
Police closed off the 1300 block of First Avenue East for a short time Saturday morning.
More information is expected later today. Check back for updates.
