Karla J. Gilbert, 65, of Marion, Iowa, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was born July 16, 1955, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth W. and Peggy Colleen Shoemaker Howard. She was united in marriage to Justin Gilbert. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Ken (Leah) Gilbert and Keith (Amanda) Gilbert; two grandchildren; a sister, Judy Messina
of Tucson, Ariz.; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kory James Gilbert; two sisters, Karen Jewel Howard in infancy and Marlene J. Schultz; and a brother, Clifford L. Howard.
She enjoyed horses, painting and making craft projects.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
