Sullivan should consider those harmed by fireworks

Adam Sullivan in his column of July 4 refers to Iowa citizens living in old fuddy duddy communities; those who call the police on people lighting fireworks. Mr. Sullivan calls police armed government agents, instead of what the are; law enforcement officers. The only over-policing is the abuse being leveled on law enforcement, but that's neither here nor there.
Lighting fireworks may be non-violent, but it is not harmless; just ask pet owners whose pets shake with fear or hide, or those who suffer from PTSD who relive every July 4 the horrors they survived once before.
Maybe Mr. Sullivan should think of them instead of those who break the law.
