Animals shouldn’t be welcomed just anywhere

I have read with interest the letters about dogs at the Downtown Farmers Market. I have been to the market but haven't been back because of the dogs there.
It seems like it's some kind of a dog park with the larger dogs breathing and slobbering all over the products that are for sale. I like dogs as much as anyone but there are just some places that animals shouldn't be allowed. The farmers market is one of them. Truth be known, there's probably an ordinance against it but it just isn't enforced.
Organizers should take lessons from the Sturgis Falls event in Cedar Falls. Dogs are never allowed and they still have a huge crowd of people every year enjoying the event dog-free.
