Cedar Rapids doesn’t need a casino

Gambling casino to Cedar Rapids? Ridiculous!
We already have a raft of them and more is insane. Those who gamble, many who return time and again, have a problem and under the guise of becoming wealthy only fritter away more money that could be better spent.
Why enhance negativity, when creativity is what the human element is all about?
My grandfather, David Turner, had a saying, “no use being dumb unless you show it.” We already are building an arena and hotel complex that could turn out to be an albatross when it comes to taxation. We currently are at the precipice of decline with our GDP in an overly bloated situation with our insatiable need to ask for more than what we are financially able to support.
Have we no concern for our children and grandchildren? Do we want them to rely on bartering and financially unable to pay off college loans because they will be unable to make enough money to own a home without being harangued by debt collectors? Waist (look at people who carry more than normal body weights) and waste (people throwing away not only bucks they don't have but discarding litter because they have no regard for our environment).
History often repeats itself. Look what happened to Rome.
