Small claims, traffic courts return downtown

CEDAR RAPIDS - The small claims and traffic divisions of Linn County District Court will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday on the first floor of the county courthouse, 51 Third Avenue Bridge.
Since 2008, the divisions had been operating out of the county's post-flood headquarters at Westdale Mall in southwest Cedar Rapids. Their return means nearly all court proceedings will now take place at the courthouse downtown.
The exception is Juvenile Court, which is housed in the new Juvenile Justice Centerat 211 Eighth Ave. SW.
