WBB: Iowa beats San Diego, takes tourney crown

Powered by seniors Jaime Printy and Morgan Johnson, the Iowa women's basketball team overcame an 11-point first-half deficit Sunday to defeat host San Diego, 83-73, in the championship tilt of the Maggie Dixon Surf `N Slam Classic.
Iowa improved to 11-3 overall. San Diego is 8-4.
Printy poured in a career-high 33 points and tied the school record with seven 3-point field goals. Johnson made 8-of-10 field goals and finished with 20 points.
Dubuque native Claire Till, who has been hobbled by injury in her freshman year, did not play for the Hawkeyes.
Baruch 52, UW-Platteville 41 -- At New York: The Pioneers fell into a 12-point hole at halftime and couldn't recover. Claire Poad, Alyssa Krajco and Kim Wellnitz had six points each for UW-P.
