Support businesses that support veterans

On behalf of the veterans in Linn County: Hy-Vee, Applebee's and Sparkling Image Car Wash all offered “thank you” items to veterans on Veterans Day. I thank them.
As some of you know, both Lowe's and Home Depot offer discounts to vets if you ask for it. If you are told no, then ask for the manager on duty.
It has come to my attention that Menard's in Cedar Rapids and Marion do not have the same offer because the home office doesn't allow this.
There are more than 3,500 veterans in the Linn County area. Hopefully you will all back me in asking Menard's to do something similar.
