Bob Bruce Radio Experience lines up first Fagan-Corbett mayoral go-round
Aug. 4, 2009 6:37 pm
Radio talk-show force Bob Bruce confirms that he has lined up mayoral candidates Brian Fagan and Ron Corbett for a debate of sorts from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday on his show on WMT-AM 600.
Bruce says he prefers to call it “a conversation” rather a debate. But he assures that both candidates will be on air at the same time, so who knows, he says.
Fagan, 37, currently an at-large City Council member, announced his candidacy for mayor last Thursday. Corbett, 48, announced in March.
Fagan is an attorney with Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman and a former staff member of former Congressman Jim Leach.
Corbett is vice president of trucking firm CRST International Inc. He also is past president/CEO of the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Iowa House of Representatives, where he was speaker of the house.
The city election is Nov. 3.
Six of the nine City Council seats are on the ballot.
