LOST extension helps C.R. residents, visitors

The Cedar Rapids Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CRACVB) Board of Directors endorses the proposed 20-year extension of the city of Cedar Rapids' 1 percent local-option sales tax.
The board strongly supports the need to protect and invest in the community's future. A flood protection system for both sides of the river, while also funding street improvements and offering property tax relief, will make Cedar Rapids a more inviting place for residents and tourists.
“As one of the many area businesses directly affected by flooding, the CRACVB Board of Directors finds this proposed sales tax extension necessary to protect against the devastation experienced in 2008,” said Lisa Goodwin, CRACVB Board Chair. “We view this as an important step in our community becoming an even more attractive location to live, work and visit.”
