Cause of our culture’s decline, and the solution
The Gazette Opinion Staff

Last year, a respected author and critic wrote: “The roots of Western civilization lie in the religion of Israel, the culture of Greece and the law of Rome and the resulting synthesis has flourished and decayed in a thousand ways during the two millennia that have followed the death of Christ.”
Unfortunately, the party of abortion, collectivism, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, human cloning, redistributionism, same-sex marriage and statism under the direction of the Politburo-by-the-Potomac, rejects these roots.
The great Western writers, from Homer to Wojtyla and Ratzinger, as well as the writers of Holy Scriptures, are anathema to this gang, who, instead, embrace the ideologies of Freud, Kinsey, Lenin, Machiavelli, Mao, Marx, Nietzsche and others who have wrought enormous destruction on the world's people.
As we learned last November, they can be defeated with ballots, protests letters and petitions, various forms of organized opposition and prayer.
And they must be defeated again in November 2012 so that “the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” no longer are in jeopardy, at least until the next batch of petty tyrants descend upon us.
