Children caught up in group’s bullying

In a recent action, the charity organization World Vision flip-flopped on its decision to employ individuals involved in a legal same-sex marriage. The flip-flop was initiated by a threat from one of the larger Pentecostal/evangelical church bodies to withdraw support if World Vision supported individuals in same-sex unions.
Although no comment was made as to how many individuals employed by World Vision this involved, it threatened the support of about 2,000 starving children. Certainly this is not the first time the almighty dollar has waged war for the almighty God, but this reeks far more of using extortion to bully a position than waging a war. To use 2,000 impoverished children as hostages can, by no credible interpretation, be considered Christian. It gives new respect for Fred Phelps, who was brave enough to go to the trenches to fight a war he felt called to wage. Doing it from a paneled boardroom by edict is a new low, even for the so-called churches involved.
