Five Seasons Plaza repair, expansion starts this month
The first phase of repair and expansion of the Five Seasons Plaza in downtown Cedar Rapids will begin later this month.
The privately-funded project involving the flood-damaged Tree of Five Seasons and surrounding plaza was announced 20 months ago by a local citizens design committee.
Pledges totaling $326,000 have been received from 95 individual and corporate donors to pay for repairs, upgrades and an endowment to provide perpetual maintenance. The total budget for construction and the endowment fund is $425,000.
