Marion is getting ready to host CPU in a varsity football game. Marion is 5-0 and 3-0 in Class 3A District 5, while CPU is 0-5 and 0-3. The game is Marion's homecoming. It doesn't seem to be much of a matchup on paper given the records and stats coming into the game.We should be starting about 7:45 p.m.Dusty Albaugh caps a 7-play, 74-yard drive with a 23-yd TD run. It put Marion up 6-0 after the PAT was botched.CPU answered immediately.Aric Myers took the ball on a reverse and then threw a strike to Joey Dighton downfield for a 50-yd TD. Dighton kicked the PAT as well. CPU up 7-6 with 8:43 to go. Dighton even returned the kickoff to midfield before the score.End of the 1st, CPU 7-6.CPU misses a 32-yd. FG after driving inside Marion's 10 thanks to a big 69-yard run by Logan Driessen right before end of 1st.Marion goes up 12-7. Tyler Fisher hits Albaugh on a short pass and he turns it up and blows by CPU defenders for the score. The run after was no good. 12-7 in second.CPU stops Marion right before half, as the Indians drove al the way to the CPU 5 after 1st and 10 from the 12, but CPU stops them on downs and kneels down to end the half. Marion holding on to a slim lead, 12-7.Marion adds to its lead. 3-play, 50-yd drive. Storla breaks free for a 22 yard run (longest of the game) and then has another 8 before Jake McDonald takes a dive-play for 20 yards and a score. 4:04 to go in the third and Marion is up 18-7 after another conversion run fails.Indians recover a fumble on CPU 30 and then four plays later, Tyler Fisher hits Dylan Cronk on an 11-yd TD pass. Marion up, 25-7 after a good PAT (finally) with 2:41 to play.
