Ray E. Davis 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 2, 2021, at the University of
Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Funeral services with military rites will be held at
1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after noon on Wednesday. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Sabrina Kelly and Barbara Davis, both from Cedar Rapids; a brother, Donald from Monticello; a half-brother, Robert Pinch of the state of Nevada; and his former wife, Sue Clark of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Tabitha, Beth, Robbie, Bobby, Brenda, Andrew, Mike and Samantha; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Suzanne; sister, Janette; and a sister-in-law, Dixie.
Ray was born on Nov. 2, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Max and Edith (Pinch) Davis. He married Sue Clark, they were later divorced.
Ray was a millwright at Quaker Oats and retired from there after many years of service. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed fishing, car races, watching western movies and wrestling, yard work and travel.
Ray was a wonderful and caring father, grandfather, brother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. A memorial fund has been established. Please leave a message or tribute to the Davis family on our web page, www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries.
