John Paul Hall, 78, of Lisbon, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospice Unit. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Lisbon United Methodist Church, where there will be a time of refection beginning at 7 p.m. Private family inurnment
will be in Lisbon Cemetery. John's family were able to carry on his life through the Iowa Donor Network. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
John was born on July 30, 1942, in Grafton, the son of Paul and Lois (Weaverling) Hall. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1961. John was united in marriage to Betty Walk later that year and began their lives full of adventures and fun. John was a welder for Link Belt, then for several years owned a trucking and hauling business. He hauled livestock and farm machinery. John enjoyed his family so much and loved his grandkids and great-grandkids. He treasured the many friends he had met over his life. John had a zest for life and was happy to live it to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by many.
John is survived by his children, Ange (Larry) Baxa and Brian (Amy) Hall, both of Lisbon; five grandchildren, Michael (Brittany) Hall, Seth (Carlie) Hall, Stacia Hall, Jennie (Lance) Zerbe and Justin Baxa; 10 great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Breklynn, Aurora, Jadan, Gavin, Gable, Maci, Ryker, Lux and Huxley; his brother, Jerry (Barb) Hall; his sister-in-law, Janice Hall; and his special dog, Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his brother, Robert Hall; granddaughter, Kylie Hall; and special family member, Samantha Dickens.
A memorial fund has been established at Bridge Community Bank in his name.
