By Joann Page: As part of DMORT (the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team) at the time, I knew it was just a matter of time before we would be called. My husband left that night with another member but returned home for a month, at which time we both went to Manhattan for two to three weeks.
My biggest memory (beside the people we met and the teamwork) was, as we boarded the plane to return home, a lady said, "Thank you for helping."
What we saw in our time there was a true sign of how strong the people of Manhattan and New York were.
