Cutting business taxes is counterproductive
The Gazette Opinion Staff

I am amazed at the Republican effort to create jobs by cutting business taxes. High school economics will teach you consumer demands create jobs.
No matter how many tax breaks businesses get, they are not going to hire workers until there is a demand for their product. Money has to be in the hands of the consumer. Probably, the best way is for government to create jobs on roads, railroads, transmission lines, etc.
Some companies who get tax breaks will never hire in this country. Their factories are overseas. To give them tax breaks is a waste of money. By giving businesses tax cuts and taking away from the consumer, and by cutting government programs, it seems the Republicans are deliberately trying to wreck the economy.
