One person was injured when a car struck a milk truck in Fayette County on New Year's Eve, authorities said.
The two vehicles collided around 2:20 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 80th Street and F Avenue, just west of Arlington, according to a news release issued Monday by the sheriff's office.
Deputies said Leland R. Adams, of Lamont, was northbound in the milk truck and stopped at a stop sign, but then he entered the intersection without seeing an oncoming car driven by Joseph H. Wingert, of Arlington, deputies said. The westbound car struck the milk truck in the right rear tires, causing the car to spin into the ditch, authorities said.
Wingert was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
Adams was not injured. He was ticketed for failure to yield.
