Thought of veterans prompted early vote

I almost didn't vote this year. All the dirty money needed and taken to run for office, I almost didn't vote.
All the back biting and lies aimed at the political opponent, needed just to run, I almost didn't vote.
The promises broken from the last elections, the mailbox loaded each night tearing down the other side, I almost didn't vote.
Some of my family saying they aren't voting because 'they are all crooks on both sides.” I almost didn't vote.
One family member saying, 'You don't vote, you can't complain.” I didn't care.
Then I thought about the guys and gals that gave their life and limbs so that I could vote.
I voted early!
