Government power should be limited

The Founding Fathers gave us the greatest form of government known to man.
By limiting the powers of government and guaranteeing the liberties of citizens, the Constitution made America the most productive, the most free, the most powerful and the most generous nation in the history of the world.
Well, we have tried the other kind of government: the intrusive kind that over-regulates private business, the secret kind that grabs one-sixth of the economy behind closed doors (Obamacare), the fascist kind that fires CEOs and forces mortgage companies to lend to unqualified borrowers, etc.
The result of fascist/socialist governing is always the same. The producers are stifled while more people become government-dependent. The end result is economic collapse.
Social and moral decline always accompanies the advance of socialism. Europe is now trying to free itself from socialism, but our administration is still touting socialist policies as the solution.
On another note: When the Iowa Constitution was written, everyone understood that marriage was the civil and/or spiritual union of one man to one woman. Marriage is what it is. All adults, gay or straight, are free to marry. But if marriage is not what you want, don't try to change the meaning of marriage.
