Rural Iowa homes damaged in series of shootings

Black Hawk County sheriff's investigators say a series of shootings that damaged homes appear to have been random in nature.
Investigators say the shots were fired from a passing vehicle late Friday, and residents were inside several of the homes when they were hit.
Black Hawk County Sheriff's Captain Rick Abben says it was mere luck nobody was killed during the shootings.
Abben says investigators have determined nine homes along three roads between Jesup and Gilbertville were damaged by gun shots. He said aside from geography, none of the victims have anything in common.
