Event addresses U.S. policy in Middle East

An Oct. 14-15 conference in Ankeny will focus on U.S. policy in Israel-Palestine. This is an interfaith event organized by the American Friends Service Committee.
Many of us watch the Middle East “peace process” drag on, as it has for decades, and have little understanding of the region and the people there. The Palestinian perspective is rarely touched on in the Western media. Some of us have lacked an awareness of how U.S. policy in that part of the world affects even our security here at home.
I would encourage people of all faiths to attend this conference with open hearts and minds. Great changes nearly always start at the grass roots level, and often with people of faith. Let us be a part of this peace process!
