Dorothy Ann Snell, 90, of Fairfax, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, at Clover Ridge United Methodist Church in Walford with Pastor Kolleen Queener officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfax Cemetery. Visitation will be held from
9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is assisting the family. Face masks will be required for those attending the service and visitation.
Dorothy was born Jan. 5, 1931, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of Helen Christians. She was united in marriage to Edward H. Snell on Dec. 25, 1950, in Walford, Iowa. Dorothy was a homemaker and was also a caretaker for several relatives. She also babysat for grandkids, great-grandkids and neighbors. Dorothy enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Walford Methodist Church for over 70 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Edward, in 2001; daughter, Cheryl Becker; brothers, John, Harry, Edward, Donald and Stan; and sisters, Irene and Elsie.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin Snell, Ronald (Mary) Snell and William (Veronica) Snelll nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Glenda Michaelson, Lois Brower, Ann Gustafson and Mary Lou Selzer; and her best friend, Belle.
