Children from rape, incest have right to life

I disagree with Jill June's April 30 column: “Planned Parenthood offers needed care for women and families.”
A core business of Planned Parenthood is killing unborn children, not only health care for women and families. The Iowa legislators who voted to stop taxpayer funding for abortion (in cases of incest or rape) deserve our praise and appreciation. They aren't extremists. Rather, they made the morally right decision. The Iowa legislators who voted to continue funding abortion likely know better but are too afraid to do what is right and just.
Common sense and medical science tell us that human life begins at fertilization as a single cell with God providing a new soul. Sacred Scripture tells us that every human life is made in the image and likeness of God and therefore sacred. Sacred Scripture also tells us “Thou shalt not kill” and “Love thy neighbor.” The unborn child is the neighbor of all people of faith and has the God-given right to life.
The unborn child isn't responsible for the crimes of rape or incest and has the same right to life as every human life. The perpetrator is the one who needs to be brought to justice and punished accordingly.
The mother of the child conceived by rape or incest needs the loving support of her family and the community to either raise her child or place the child for adoption. Hiring Planned Parenthood to kill her unborn child will result in a life burdened with guilt and regret.
