Ann Poe deserves to be re-elected

To the editor:

I have lived and/or worked in Cedar Rapids for over 40 years.

During that time, I have had an opportunity to work with many members of our city council in various roles and situations. From my perspective, Poe has been one of the best.

In her first term in office, she has demonstrated a strong capacity to listen carefully, gather information and make decisions that were for the benefit of the entire community. She takes a balanced approach to problem solving that weighs the interests and concerns of all aspects of the city. Her relationships outside the Cedar Rapids community have proved to be invaluable.

With the many challenges facing the council in the next four years, her experience and enthusiasm will be needed. She clearly has earned the right to a second term.
