NCAA rules Gable has one year of eligibility remaining

In a landmark ruling, the NCAA has ruled that competitors who wrestled in the era that prohibited freshmen from participating in varsity events can reclaim a fourth year of eligibility.
Legendary University of Iowa Coach Dan Gable, a two-time NCAA Champ for Iowa State, falls under that ruling.
The former Olympic Champion has announced he will enroll at UI and look to compete at 157 for the Hawkeyes during the 2010-11 season.
Gable said he's realistic about what to expect. With advanced age and recent hip/leg injuries he said he may not be able to pin everybody.
