Bryan Bulaga is going to New York next week
Mike Hlas Apr. 12, 2010 11:40 pm
No, this isn't a prediction that Iowa offensive tackle will be drafted by the Jets or Giants.
Bulaga is one of 16 players who have accepted invitations by the NFL to attend the draft in person, as this post on profootballtalk.com explains.
When I covered the NFL draft in 2004 in New York, I only recall six or seven players invited. One was the last Iowa offensive tackle to be a first-round pick, Robert Gallery. Others included quarterbacks Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger.
I've seen Bulaga going to Seattle, Washington, Pittsburgh and elsewhere in mock drafts. But what appears to be a near-certainty is that he'll go in the first half of the first round.
Here is the transcript of ESPN.com's live chat with Bulaga on March 25.
