Iowa still has a hope in this year's American Idol.
Katelyn Epperly, 19, of West Des Moines, was one of the first seven to reach the semifinals this past Tuesday night. After auditioning in Chicago, the Millikin University singer-songwriter made it to Hollywood and has survived several cuts to get this far. She will compete with eleven other women and a dozen men to make the next round.
Cedar Rapids native and former Linn-Mar music standout, Kelsey Madsen, got a golden ticket to Hollywood after auditioning in Orlando. Now a student at Columbia College in Chicago, was eliminated from American Idol following the “Group Night” round on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
