Janesovsky, Lottie C. (Sloup)
Lottie C. (Sloup) Janesovsky, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at All Saint's Catholic Church. Visitation will be an hour before services at the church. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Lottie was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Schimek Sloup. She married Leo Janesovsky on Jan. 15, 1947, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Lottie worked for Western Fraternal Life Association for over 20 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and WFLA Lodge 500. Lottie loved family travel, especially to historical sites, gardening and the company of her dogs. She enjoyed reading many types of literature, including presidential biographies, study of nutrition, and the Bible, in particular the Book of Revelation.
Lottie is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay, and son-in-law, Kim Lyle of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, in 2003; her sisters, Frannie Andrlik, Olga Nagel, Louise Vomacka and Maimie Sloup; as well as her parents.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
