Dean Allen Winterowd, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away June 21, 2021, at Manor Care in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from noon to
2 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories on Tuesday, June 29. A funeral service will follow the visitation and begin at 2 p.m., with burial following at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dean was born March 28, 1947, to George and Lura (Davis) Winterowd in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Jefferson High School. He married the love of his life Linda Schnover. Dean gave 44 years of service to Rockwell Collins.
He enjoyed bowling, showing dogs at the dog shows with his wife, playing blackjack at the casino and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Dean took great pride in his bowling accomplishments that included five 300's, one 299, and two 800 series. Most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his family.
Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents; nephew, Tyson Hootman; and his beloved pets.
He is survived by his siblings, Darrell (Sandy) Winterowd, Janice (Wally) Hootman and Louise (Steve) Smola; and nieces and nephews, Tammy Ryan, Terry (Audra) Hootman, Tracy (Yvonne) Ryan, Theresea (Larry) Harder, Gregory (Heidi) Winterowd, Jennifer (Mark) Wilson and Thomas (Latoya) Hootman.
