Regarding an April 27 letter by Bret Nilles: Reading Bill Strilich's letter, I didn't get any idea he was denying racism. I thought he was saying that racism exists in blacks as well as whites.
To bring up slavery, Emmett Till, etc., is old history. No one is saying to forget these incidents, but don't keep preaching hate for whites. No one alive today had anything to do with slavery, yet we are being blamed.
Attorney General Eric Holder wouldn't charge the new Black Panthers, for the voting disruption in Ohio. Not enough evidence. I'll bet half of Americans saw it on television or video. What sort of evidence does Holder need?
I don't mind being called a cracker, honky, pink person, whitey, etc., they're only words. Yet one offensive word to blacks has resulted in career loss, business loss and so on. We all must put the past behind us. To get respect, one must give respect.
