Practice tolerance when disagreeing

There is a lot of talk about tolerance from the left. But what is tolerance? Webster's says tolerance is 'being tolerant of others' views, beliefs, practices etc.” Tolerance does not mean agree with. In fact, it should be obvious that tolerance can only be practiced where disagreement exists.
So, where is tolerance from the left on the same-sex issue? Do Americans have a right to believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman (like President Obama stated when he first sought the office of president)? Let those who preach tolerance say yes.
And where is tolerance on climate change? In his 2013 Georgetown address, President Obama said he didn't '...have much patience for anyone who denies that this challenge (man-made climate change) is real.” There is disputing evidence against man-made climate change, and Steve Goreham, executive director of the Climate Science Coalition of America (CSCA), is just one dissenting voice (www.climatism.net/). Should opposing views to man-made climate change be given voice? Let those who preach tolerance say yes.
