Sights and sites covering college sports, Part IV
Jun. 21, 2012 7:06 am
As part of our many journeys covering sports, we encounter interesting, impromptu moments, whether it's in Iowa City or elsewhere. This week I'm throwing out a few random pictures and videos from the most recent college sports season. Here are a few:
Former Big 12 Commissioner Dan Beebe had an all-access pass at Iowa State the day the Cyclones played host to the Hawkeyes. A few weeks later, not so much.
Northwestern unfurled a full-court flag before the National Anthem for its game against Iowa in February.
Penn State sells out for football games and doesn't quite do the same for basketball near tip-off.
I know, tough to see with the lighting, but here is Nebraska's 1981 Big 8 poster in the press box at Memorial Stadium.
I found it ironic that in Nebraska there's an area called 'Hawks Championship Center' and that location was where Iowa lost any chance of earning a championship (OK it was really two weeks previously against Michigan State).
