Job, wage growth must be earned

To the editor:
It is not society or the employer's fault that some have no work experience, job baggage, no education and nothing to offer except for attendance.
Some liberals and Johnson County love to spend other people's money. In this case, the employer's money.
Let's get creative and give training wage workers an annual merit increase every year until they reach $10 per hour. When you increase the training wage you increase all wages and that could price Iowa City out of the job creation market in Iowa.
Do not make it more expensive to hire the unfortunate or the unskilled employees. Job and wage advancement must be earned from the employer not bestowed by a vote or law. We do not need the Cuban economy in America.
