HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALISM: Women of Troy beat out Waukee to reach state finals

DES MOINES -- A tough first half proved to be no obstacle for Iowa City West's Women of Troy. After going into halftime with a score of 22-15, West pulled ahead, putting up an 18 point third quarter to overcome the Waukee Warriors. The final score was 64-50.
West junior Ally Disterhoft scored 18 points, including one three-pointer, and went 7 for 8 on free throws.
The Women of Troy made 73.9 percent of their free throws, hitting 17 of 23.
West advances to the finals, which will be played at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Saturday at 8 p.m.
