Letter: Invest in projects that benefit Iowans

Regarding the April 5 Gazette online article 'Bill targeting Clean Line project passes Iowa House”:

I think we can all agree that clean, reliable energy is desired by citizens in Iowa and across the nation. Given this fact, it seems pertinent to invest in projects that seek to provide sustainable energy and promise the creation of thousands of jobs and millions of dollars of investment for Iowans.

To pass legislation that aims to stop a project that would deliver 3,500 megawatts of energy generated in Iowa would be a conscious effort to deny environmental sustainability, financial providence and political democracy.

Issues aside, standards within the Iowa House cannot waver depending on the subject at hand.
