Washington, let people be self-sufficient

Today's political polarization approaches the extent of the partition facing our nation before the Civil War. Unchecked, this dilemma may very well destroy this nation.
When two human beings engage in an argument, a resolution may well be achieved by walking in an adversary's shoes (an act our politicians in Washington refuse to consider). Shedding a subjective view of an issue can be daunting, yet very beneficial to conflict resolution.
Consider one's entry into this world. We do not choose our parents. If parents choose to smother us with affection while imprisoning us in their concept of what life should be, we are doomed to achieve less than those children of parents who raise their offspring to leave them – to become self-sufficient.
Washington bureaucrats are in the process of turning our nation into a nanny state. These corrupt so-called servants of the people are, behind closed doors, setting the agenda for what will be a citizenry dependent upon mother government. Politicians view you and me as being incapable of self-sufficiency. Consequently, their actions may negatively impact our freedoms. These same Washington nannies generate self-indulging perks for themselves, but exclude the citizenry. Such privileged elitism was the very thing from which our founders fled.
Subjective loyalty to a political party diminishes that party's effectiveness in maintaining the character of a nation. In a democratic society, an individual's subjective party loyalty enables government control over its citizens' lives. That person propagates polarization.
