President refuses to govern
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Mar. 11, 2013 12:59 pm
President Obama is more interested in kicking the Republican Party while down than actually governing this country. What else could explain his road tour the week of the sequester, where he paints a doomsday scenario if budget cuts are passed, all the fault of House Republicans?
It begs the question: If this doomsday scenario was so dire, why was he out on the road giving speeches about it, instead of dealing with the sequester problem that was created 16 months ago by himself and the White House?
Obama's goal is creating a scenario that everything that is undesirable (economy, gas prices, gridlock in Washington) is out of his control, so he can never be held responsible by the people.
It's time to end the grandstanding and vacations and put out a budget. Take away the grandiose speeches and a fawning media, and what you have is a president who refuses to do the hard work of governing.
