Make coaching change for better play later
Jan. 13, 2012 11:01 pm
What is the big secret with the Iowa football team? Mediocre play the past few seasons, players suspended at the end of seasons and real good players always leaving makes one wonder if the coaching problem is more dire than we realize. Sure the head coach and his assistants are basically secure until 2020, but by that time there won't be enough good recruits to even field a team.
A better idea would be to make a total coaching change and possible athletics director change now and take our lumps until the players learn the new coaches' system. And with the next coach, no 10-year contract extensions and no outlandish salaries.
