Man injured in two-vehicle crash outside Cedar Rapids Ice Arena
One man was taken to a local hospital Thursday night following a two-vehicle accident outside the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
Shortly before 10 p.m., a white minivan collided with a red pickup truck outside the Ice Arena at 1100 Rockford Rd. SW, police said. The truck had a snow blade attached to its front, and the van sustained extensive front-end damage.
According to police, the male driver of the van was transported to a local hospital for chest pain resulting from deployment of the van's air bag. The two occupants of the truck were uninjured.
Police are investigating how the crash occurred, and had no further details as to the circumstances of the collision.
