Youngster lends a hand on rainy day
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 6, 2013 1:09 pm
Recently, I was shopping at Michaels. As I came out, the rain was pouring down. As I came to my car, I had my purse and Michaels bag in one hand and my cane in the other hand. As I approached my car, a young lady about 8 or 9 jumped out of the van parked next to me and came running with her umbrella open to hold over me and held it there as I very slowly got into my car and then she closed the door for me as I was saying “thank you.”
What a delightful youngster who has been trained well by her parents to help “old folks.”
I'm so sorry that I did not get her name. Hopefully her parents will read this letter. She made the rainy day a real red-letter day for me, an old lady.
