President Obama: 1 term and mediocre
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Feb. 6, 2010 11:10 pm
The anointed one, also known as President Barack Obama, tells us he would rather be a good one-term president than a mediocre two-term one. Frankly, I think he is heading for a bit of both options – one term and mediocre at best.
We continue to increase the national debt rather than look for ways to pay it down. There is a health care problem but that plan devised by the current administration is not popular. At the same time, the ruling party seems to be deaf to any other proposals. The energy crisis remains
unsolved. Unemployment is out of control and not getting better. Recently the Dow was in free fall.
The current administration wants to do away with the Bush tax cuts. In fact, we need to keep them and devise more ways to cut tax collections to encourage business investment and customer spending. It is obvious from recent elections that voters are very unhappy with the current ruling party.
We can elect honest, informed decision-makers in 2010. Then 2012 is only two years away.
