District decadence while schools scrape by
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Mar. 23, 2012 12:08 am
Recently, I had a young man come to my house soliciting funds to fix the gym floor at Wilson School. I checked with the school to be sure this was a school-sanctioned fundraiser and was told that indeed it was true.
Later, I also drove by the new multimillion-dollar school district administrative building (Taj Mahal) and observed the huge parking lot with wrought iron fencing, large decorative concrete planters and (what looked like) chandeliers hanging in the entry.
What is wrong with this picture, parents and taxpayers?
