FLOOD RECOVERY BOOST: The University of Iowa's three major building replacement projects from the 2008 flood received $106.7 million more in obligated funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. That
follows earlier funding awards of $160 million for the UI's plans to replace Hancher Auditorium, School of Music building and the Studio Arts building.

EDUCATION ASSIST: State legislators say they'll help cover the drop from
90 percent to 50 percent in tuition assistance that had been provided to Iowa National Guard members attending Iowa colleges and universities until the Guard announced the cut for the spring semester, citing a wave of returning veterans and higher tuition costs.
