Durant school officials have barred Monica Rouse from returning to her job as principal of Durant High School, despite a judge's order.
According to the Muscatine Journal, Rouse says that when she went to the school on Wednesday morning, she was met by district Superintendent Duane Bark and the district attorney, Cam Davidson. She says they told her they had filed for a stay of the judge's order.
They say her return would disrupt the school.
On March 11, a Cedar County district judge ruled there was no evidence to support her firing last April. The school board had said Rouse let students graduate despite being short of required credits, among her other alleged failings.
Her attorney said she hasn't determined what Rouse's next legal step will be.
