How will children of gay couples develop?

Although it seems abnormal, I don't strongly object to same-sex couples getting married.
The big question to me is the development of children they may adopt. Especially if two married women adopt a boy or if two married men adopt a girl. Will the boy child have effeminate characteristics or will the girl child have masculine characteristics as they grow older?
