Laura L. McClure, 67, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Laura Lee McClure was born Jan. 10, 1954, in Newport, R.I., the daughter of Earl and Treva (Kilgore) McClure. Her family moved to the Ainsworth area, where she attended and graduated from Ainsworth High School. As a single mom, she worked hard for a number of employers in the Iowa City area, most recently enjoying her job as cashier at Walmart. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, enjoying her work and service to others. Laura enjoyed her gardening, making bread and most of all her family and friends.
Her family includes her children, Floyd Eugene "Gene" Hiller Jr., Ernest E. Hiller (Lyndsey) and Angela L. Hiller; grandchildren, Felicia Hogan, Katie Hiller, Erin Michelle Hintz, Cheyenne Lynn Hintz and Damond Coghill-Behrends; great-grandchildren, Nola, Baylen and Kensley; her mother, Treva Kilgore; and sisters, Becky Knebel, Billie Taglauer (David) and Barbara Schnoebelen (Phil).
Laura was preceded in death by her stepfather, Bill Kilgore.
